COVID-19 CLEANING AND DISINFECTING PROCEDURES

We follow strict protocols and procedures for preventing transmission of disease including COVID-19.
Prior to entering the suite, a notice on the door advises everyone of the following requirements:
Upon entering the suite, each patient is asked if they have any specific symptoms of illness common to COVID-19 including:
If a patient has been, or has possibly been exposed to anyone with COVID-19 they cannot be seen and are advised to stay home for 14 days after the last contact with a person with COVID-19. They are advised to watch for any of the above listed symptoms.
In the clinic, patients are seen on a rotating basis through 3 treatment rooms. Because appointments are staggered, each room is vacant for at least 30 minutes or more between uses to allows for cleaning and airing out the room.
After each patient is seen, the rooms are cleaned in the following manner:
All staff (Dr. Cailin O’Hara and our nurse, Colleen), are wearing masks and performing thorough hand washing after interactions with patients and contact with potentially contaminated surfaces.
Every cleaning and disinfecting product that we use has been approved by the EPA and FDA to be effective in destroying a vast variety of disease-causing organisms, including the COVID-19 virus. These products are:

- To wear a face mask (either a medical type, an N95 or a hand-made cloth mask; no valve or vent)
- To wait in their car until it’s time for your appointment (no waiting in lobby area)
- To keep 6 feet away from others
- To not wear a face mask with a vent or valve
- To not enter if they feel sick, have fever, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, muscle aches, congestion, sore throat, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, loss of sense of smell or taste.
- To not enter if they have been exposed to someone with COVID-19 in the past 14 days.

- Cough
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- New onset of fatigue or muscle aches
- Loss of taste or smell
- Sore throat
- Nausea, vomiting or diarrhea
- Exposure to anyone with COVID-19

- The pillowcase and any other fabric covering used go immediately into the laundry hamper.
- Exam table paper is disposed of in a trash receptacle outside of the treatment room.
- The treatment table is thoroughly cleaned with disinfectant according to the manufacturer's use directions.
- Door knobs, light switches and patient belongings baskets are sanitized.
- All equipment used by our staff for treatment (cups, gua sha tools, patient call bells) is cleaned and disinfected after each use.
