Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get started?
First you'll schedule your initial intake and evaluation. This is conducted by phone from the comfort of your home. Dr. Cailin will call you (schedule here) and ask in-depth questions to learn about you and what you need. You can learn about the process here and visit our new client area here.
What if I'm not sure about pursuing care at Sun Tree or I have questions about it?
This is exactly why you get to start with an initial intake- this way you can ask questions and develop a rapport with Dr. Cailin. It helps you to both understand if what you need is what our process can provide for you. Also be sure to check out her robust article library and main page including free resources. You can also email info@suntreehealingarts.com with any questions you may have. We generally respond on the same day you message, so please call us if you don't get a timely reply.
Do you accept insurance?
If you have health insurance benefits that specifically cover acupuncture, we are able to email you a special invoice called a superbill after you pay for your sessions. You can then submit this to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. Contact your health insurance provider for more information.
What kind of payment is accepted?
Major credit cards, health savings accounts and cash are accepted. All payment is due at time of service.
What happens in a session?
The sessions are divided into two aspects: working with the mind and working with the body. The first half of your session is conversational and coaching in nature (the mind). The second half of your session is meditative, relaxing and body-focused including some combination of acupuncture, acupressure, sound healing and energy medicine. You can include cupping/gua sha in your treatment as well. The flow is a bit different for our facial rejuvenation sessions and personal retreats, which we can talk about in your consultation.
What should I wear to my appointment?
Ideally wear pants that can be rolled up to the knee or shorts. Wearing soft and comfortable clothing will also help you to relax.
How long are sessions?
Our Standard Sessions run about an hour and our Retreat experience is two hours. Learn more here.
