Decisions That Change Your Life
I've been reflecting on the true power of our decisions, but not in the way might think. I recently recorded a podcast that has elements of this theme that you can listen to here:
But there's even more to it that I want to share with you.
I want to address one specific aspect of if it here and help you through the process.
You are making decisions 100% of the time- and all of those decisions are creating your life. However, a lot of our decisions run on autopilot, habit, informed by past experiences and beliefs and the opinions of others. The obvious problem with this is that you aren't consciously making decisions, and hence, you aren't consciously creating your life.
Do you know what happens when you turn off autopilot and take control of the wheel? You give yourself total power in the course your life takes. But it gets even better. You will eventually wind up living your dreams, having what you want, finding happiness you didn't imagine even existed.
Yep. That's what I'm really talking about.
Sooo... try this:
1) Make yourself CONSCIOUS to EVERY decision that you make. Be PRESENT with each decision. Notice yourself making your decisions. Ask yourself:
-What part of me is deciding this for me?
-Do I actually really want this?
-Does this bring me closer to what I want in my future?
2) Take time to DECIDE what you really, really want. I'm talking specifics. I'm talking if there were NO limitations (there aren't). What calls to you? What would be your ideal in every aspect of your life? Ask yourself:
-If things could be any way for me, how would I want them to be?
-If I deserved everything good, everything that I wanted, how would that feel? (hint: you do deserve it)
-If I was living my dream life, what would be happening?
3) Remind yourself every single, ideally at the the beginning of the day, about what you decided in step 2. Reaffirm it. Write about it in present tense as if it already happened.
-Meditate on what you want
-Make what you want more important than what is currently happening
-Trust that what you want is already yours- your believing in it is what brings it into your life
4) Here's the most important part: BELIEVE IN IT. This is an act of believing in YOU, believing you can have what you want. How do you know you believe in it?
-You aren't swayed by what other people say
-You kill doubt with your excitement and anticipation
-You spend time feeling what it feels like to have what you want (yes, this is law of attraction stuff)
-You feel positive about what you want instead of worried, doubtful, fearful
-You don't need to confirmation, proof or evidence- you KNOW it is yours and is on its way (this part can be the hardest but DAMN does it work)
