While we are very much in that energetic of starting a new year, cosmically and seasonally we are still in a bit of a dormant phase. This is more the time of reflection, of letting go, of dreaming bigger. It's this period of time when we're in an in-between... and the in-between can be really uncomfortable.
So try writing about this:
What are you moving away from and what are you moving toward?
How does this honor you?
What are you taking with you and what are you leaving behind?
How does this honor you?
Trust in yourself and your process.
What has been really difficult for you? Is there anything still lingering, still weighing you down, no matter how hard you try to shake it off?
As much as you may want to move forward and do the damn thing, if there are things still asking for you to process them or sit with them or let them go, this is the also the time for that.
And what if you aren't excited about a new year? THAT IS PERFECTLY FINE. You can be however you are, however you feel, in whatever way right now.
I think that NO MATTER WHAT we need to honor ourselves.
If there were no societal obligations, no societal constructs, no societal pressures, I'd bet you feel a whole hell of a lot better in whatever situation you're in. What's your true opinion of yourself and how things are right now without the sense of judgment you may be feeling?
My daily practice and rituals right now are around dreaming, sitting the the stillness of the coldest season, feeling whatever ugly feelings bubble up, feeling whatever inspiration comes.
I encourage you to create a practice to do EVERY day that honors you exactly as you are right now, making NOTHING about you or your experience right now wrong, and taking any pressure OFF of yourself that makes you feel like things need to be any different than they are...
